Caracas's Classic Amusement Park
Parque de Atracciones Caracas is Venezuela's most established amusement park, located in the Los Chorros district of Caracas. Set against the backdrop of the dramatic Ávila mountain range that towers over Venezuela's capital, the park has served as the primary family amusement destination for Caraqueños for decades.
Setting & Atmosphere
The park benefits from one of the most striking natural backdrops of any urban amusement park in South America. Cerro Ávila — the great mountain wall that separates Caracas from the Caribbean coast — looms directly above, providing a dramatic green backdrop to the rides and attractions below. Caracas's pleasant highland climate, at 900 metres altitude, makes outdoor activities comfortable year-round.
Attractions
The park offers a range of classic rides and family entertainment:
- Roller coasters — headline thrill attractions
- Ferris wheel — landmark ride with views toward Ávila
- Bumper cars and carousel — classic fairground favourites
- Water rides — popular in Caracas's warm, humid season
- Children's zone — dedicated rides for younger visitors
- Live shows and entertainment — cultural performances and character events
- Food and drink outlets — Venezuelan snacks and international options
A Caraqueño Institution
Despite the economic and social challenges that Venezuela has experienced in recent decades, the park remains a cherished part of Caracas family culture. For many Caraqueños, a visit to the amusement park is tied to childhood memories, birthday celebrations, and school holiday traditions — a constant in the life of a city that has experienced much change.
